US Election: Feds Offer Security Help To States To Prevent Hacking


Move comes as Donald Trump questions integrity of the election systems.



A top US government official has offered help of federal cybersecurity experts to states to ensure that November 8 polls are not targets of cyber fraud or tampered with, reports Reuters.
The move comes amid claims by Republican nominee Donald Trump has been raising questions about the potential for election fraud, a claim that other officials have disputed.
Homeland Security chief Jeh Johnson said cybersecurity experts could scan the voting systems for vulnerabilities, and also cautioned state officials against hacking by ensuring voting machines were not connected to the internet.
