Ukraine Suffered 6,500 Cyberattacks In Two Months, President Says

Petro Poroshenko alleges Russia was behind the attacks and is waging cyberwar against the country.

Ukraine President Petro Poroshenko said the country suffered 6,500 cyberattacks in the last two months and investigations have shown Russia was behind them, according to a Reuters report. While speaking at a recent National Security and Defence Council meeting, Poroshenko accused Russia of waging a cyberwar against Ukraine.
Last month, hackers targeted the country’s finance and defense ministries and paralyzed work at State Treasury for several days. Recent incidents of power outage in the country are also alleged to be the work of Russian hackers.
Meanwhile, cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike recently reported that since 2014, Russia-sponsored hackers had targeted Ukraine’s artillery units via a malware implant on Android devices.
