Recent reports have revealed that Fortinets SIEM may be vulnerable to twin maximum severity bugs that could potentially lead to code execution.
The severity bugs, known as CVE-2021-25028 and CVE-2021-25029, are both rated at a maximum severity level of 10 out of 10 on the Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS).
If exploited, hackers could potentially execute arbitrary code on the affected systems, gaining unauthorized access and leaving sensitive data exposed to cyber threats.
Fortinet has acknowledged the severity of these vulnerabilities and is working diligently to provide patches to address the issues and enhance the security of their SIEM.
Users are advised to update their Fortinet SIEM software to the latest version as soon as patches become available to mitigate the risk of exploitation.
With the possibility of code execution, there is a significant risk of data breaches occurring if these vulnerabilities are not addressed promptly by users.
