T-Mobile Hacked -- Again

The wireless carrier has suffered a data breach for the fourth time since 2018.

Wireless provider T-Mobile recently reported yet another data breach, its fourth since 2018.
In a post on its website, T-Mobile said it had found and quickly shut down a cyberattack that may have exposed some customer account information, including phone numbers, number of lines in an account, and call-related information collected by T-Mobile. The company said the breach did not include customer names, physical addresses, email addresses, financial data, credit-card information, passwords, PINs, or other personal data.
We immediately started an investigation, with assistance from leading cybersecurity forensics experts, to determine what happened and what information was involved. We also immediately reported this matter to federal law enforcement and are now in the process of notifying impacted customers, the company said.
T-Mobile was hit with
a breach in 2018
that exposed personal information of 2 million customers, and
again in 2019 when the data of 1 million prepaid customers was stolen
. Then in March 2020, T-Mobile employee emails were hacked as well as some customer financial data.
