Symantec Now Offers Threat Detection Tools Used by its Researchers

TAA now is part of Symantecs Integrated Cyber Defense Platform.

RSA CONFERENCE 2018 - San Francisco - Symantec today rolled out new threat detection features that are based on tools its research team used to discover and the recent DragonFly 2.0 attacks on energy organizations.
The new Targeted Attack Analytics (TAA) was developed with the help of Symantec researchers as well as its machine learning experts, the company said. TAA is now built into Symantecs existing Integrated Cyber Defense Platform.
Up until now, weve had the telemetry and data necessary to uncover the warning signs of dangerous targeted attacks but the industry has lacked the technology to analyze and code the data quickly, said Eric Chien, technical director of Symantec Security and Response and Symantec Fellow. With TAA, were taking the intelligence generated from our leading research teams and uniting it with the power of advanced machine learning to help customers automatically identify these dangerous threats themselves and take action.
