Sony Exec Resigns Post In Wake Of Data Breach

Amy Pascal, co-chair of Sony Pictures Entertainment and chair of motion picture group, will still have an association with Sony as head of a new production venture there.

In what appears to be the first executive-level casualty of the massive and very public data breach at Sony, Amy Pascal, co-chair of Sony Pictures Entertainment and chair of Sonys motion pictures group, will step down in May from her executive posts, Sony announced today.
Pascal is not completely severing her ties with Sony, however: she will take a four-year production deal at Sony Pictures, a venture that will include movies, television, and theatre, according to an AP report. Sony has not named a successor to Pascal, who has been with the company for 20 years, reportedly had been in contract renewal negotiations for some time.
Pascal publicly apologized after her emails leaked publicly in the data breach contained racist comments presuming President Obamas movie preferences.
