The Samsung Epic 4G is Sprints first Samsung Galaxy S smartphone that has access to the Samsung Media Hub video store offering moves and TV programs that can be rented or purchased.
To promote the smartphones mobile entertainment on-the-go features, Sprint launched a series of short movies it has dubbed Epic Mini Movies, that show epic moments from a variety of movies. The mini movies were created to highlight how the Android-powered device can deliver a cinema-like experience and the fact that users can download and watch movies on Sprints 4G network, the carrier said. The movies span several epic categories, including the Epic Scream, Epic Punch, Epic News, Epic Suspense, Epic Kiss, Epic Chase, Epic Sound Effects, Epic News and Epic Villain.
Sprint is also using the movie campaign to show off other features of the Samsung Epic 4G, such as the ability to download content over its 3G or 4G networks without being tethered to Wi-Fi, front and rear-facing cameras, the slide-out QWERTY keyboard and Super AMOLED touch screen, along with mobile hotspot capabilities, which allow users to connect up to five Wi-Fi-enabled devices to the Sprint network via the Epic 4G.
This campaign is designed to engage consumers and highlight the entertainment capabilities of Samsung Epic 4G and how using Samsung Media Hub on the Sprint 4G network allows for faster downloads than any other carrier can provide, said Mike Goff, Sprint vice president, Corporate Marketing, in a statement. The ad campaign was created for several formats including TV, print and online. The Epic Mini Movies can be viewed at
