Resolution Requires Cybersecurity Training for Members of Congress

A bipartisan resolution would mandate IT and cybersecurity training for all members of Congress, their staff, and employees.

A new resolution in the US House of Representatives would require all members of Congress and their staff members to receive annual training in information technology and cybersecurity.
The Congressional Cybersecurity Training Resolution, co-sponsored by Reps. Kathleen Rice (D-NY) and John Katko (R-NY), requires the chief administrative officer of the House to conduct the training. The two sponsoring representatives said that it is imperative that members of the House be able to recognize cyber intrusions and that the responsibility can best be met if they undergo the same sort of training now required of their staff members.
