PlayStation Network Comes Back On After Hack

After three weeks down, Sony game players are back online

Sonys Playstation Network, which has been out of operation since April following a massive hack, is back online.
Users were phased in slowly over the weekend, and the company required a firmware upgrade as well as password resets for all users, according to a
video
by top executive Kazuo Hirai.
The restart didnt go without a hitch. On Sunday Sony was forced to take the network down for 30 minutes in order to deal with all of the password resets requested by prospective game players.
We’re currently experiencing an extremely heavy load of password resets, and so we recently had to turn off services for approximately 30 minutes to clear the queue, a Sony spokesman said in the companys blog.
As such, a large number of people are attempting to change their passwords at the same time, it’s taking longer than expected for all those emails to clear all of the ISPs.
Sony is still reeling from the series of three hacks, which might have compromised the personal data of more than 70 million users.
