Palo Alto Networks Buys Secdo for Endpoint Detection

The acquisition is intended to ramp up Palo Altos endpoint detection capabilities with new tech and talent.

Palo Alto Networks has announced plans to acquire Secdo, an Israel-based company that combines automation with endpoint detection and response (EDR). The deal is expected to close during Palo Altos fiscal third quarter.
Secdos approach to data collection goes beyond traditional methods of EDR that only collect general event data and gathers more detailed information to detect and respond to attacks. Its team of engineers will join Palo Alto as part of the acquisition.
Palo Alto will use Secdos technology to build on its EDR capabilities and add data collection and visualization to both its Traps endpoint protection tool and Application Framework. Once Secdo is integrated with Traps and the Palo Alto Networks platform, additional data will feed into the logging service and improve precision for applications running in the Palo Alto Networks Application Framework, the company reports.
