New Chubb Service Helps Businesses Minimize Fallout From Data Breach

Service is available through eRisk Hub

WARREN, N.J., June 28, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Chubb Group of Insurance Companies has introduced a new service to help businesses manage a data breach.
In the event of a data breach, the service can refer business managers to a specialist law firm, which can conduct a free 30-minute consultation to assess the situation and identify next steps to help minimize potential liabilities. The service also provides businesses with an Incident Roadmap and a checklist of response activities and access to other cyber security risk management and breach recovery services.
The number of data breaches, as well as the costs of complying with customer notification requirements in 46 states and restoring compromised systems, continues to increase steadily, said Tracey Vispoli, senior vice president and Chubbs worldwide cyber security liability manager. Even companies with strong security and privacy controls are not immune from cyber extortion or the actual theft or damage of data by external or even internal parties. Chubbs new service offers our CyberSecurity and other customers and producers the resources to help mitigate the risk of a data breach and to respond quickly when one occurs.
Chubbs new service is available through eRisk Hub, an Internet site managed by NetDiligence, a cyber risk assessment and data breach services company. The site also contains an array of recent articles, white papers and other risk management related information on cyber risk topics.
The member insurers of the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies form a multi-billion dollar organization providing property and casualty insurance for personal and commercial customers worldwide through 8,500 independent agents and brokers. Chubbs global network includes branches throughout North America, Europe, Latin America, Asia and Australia.
