Kidnapped Kaspersky Returns Safe; No Ransom Paid

Son of security company founder is in a safe location, company says

The son of Kaspersky Labs founder Eugene Kaspersky has been returned unharmed following a kidnapping in Russia, with no ransom paid, according to a statement made by the company yesterday.
Ivan Kaspersky was reportedly
kidnapped and held for $4.3 million ransom
on Tuesday.
Five people were arrested in a raid to free Kasperskys son, who was abducted while on his way to work, according to news reports.
Previous reports indicated that Kaspersky had paid the ransom. The elder Kaspersky did not speak publicly, but his company issued a statement Sunday.
Ivan is alive and well and is currently located at a safe location, the statement says. No ransom was paid during the rescue operation. Eugene Kaspersky and Natalya Kaspersky are currently unavailable for comment.
