Israeli Teenagers Held For Allegedly Running Hacking Service

The two 18-year-olds were responsible for more than 150,000 DDoS attacks which earned them around $600,000 in two years, say reports.

Two 18-year-old Israelis have been arrested for allegedly running an online service that allowed paying customers to hack websites, reports BBC News. The vDos site reportedly charged from $30 to $200 a month per attack and was responsible for more than 150,000 distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks in two years.
An exposé by cybersecurity expert Brian Krebs may have tipped off the police about the activities of Itay Huri and Yarden Bidani; their site was shut down soon after. Krebs wrote that the vDos service, which may have generated around $600,000 in two years, had not been very discreet and so was easily traceable.
To say that vDos has been responsible for a majority of the DDoS attacks clogging up the internet over the past few years would be an understatement, said Krebs.
BBC News says vDos, however, did not allow attacks on websites within Israel.
