InterContinental Hotels Probes Possible Card System Breach

Cybersecurity firm hired by the hotel group to investigate suspected payment card system fraud at various US locations.

The InterContinental Hotels Group has hired a cybersecurity firm to probe reports of a possible hack of the payment card systems at some of its hotels at various locations in the US, says Reuters. This follows a malware attack on some of InterContinentals Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants four months ago.
Cybersecurity blog KrebsOnSecurity was the
first to report
the ongoing investigation saying a debit and credit card fraud pattern at some IHG properties had raised suspicion of a possible breach. This was particularly noticed at the Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express locations, adds Reuters.
