HP Purchases Security Startup Bromium

The purchase will bring new isolation and threat intelligence capabilities to the HP portfolio.

HP has announced its acquisition of Bromium, an anti-malware startup firm that works by providing isolation and containment for browsers and applications. Already part of HPs Sure Click, Bromiums technology is slated to become part of the broader HP platform in the future.
According to the release announcing the purchase, Bromiums protection and real-time threat intelligence will combine with HPs Sure Sense, Sure View, and Sure Start as part of a comprehensive security solution. The release quotes statistics of 1 in 13 Web requests leading to malware and more than 500,000 new malware attacks every day as reasons why new security solutions are still needed.
