Google Debuts New Bug Hunting Platform

The new platform brings bug reporting for all Google targets into one place.

Google is launching a new platform for security researchers as part of its vulnerability rewards program (VRP).
The company currently has individual VRPs for bug hunters to report problems that affect Google services, Android, Abuse, Chrome, and Play. Its new platform (bughunters.google.com) unites reporting for each of these VRPs into one platform, which has a single intake form that aims to make it easier for researchers to submit issues.
Officials say the platform will enable more opportunities for interaction among the bug-hunting community, in addition to providing gamification and educational resources.
Google introduced its VRP ten years ago and since then, its team of security engineers has grown significantly. Nearly 20 bug hunters who reported vulnerabilities have joined the Google VRP team in the last decade, the tech giant notes in its announcement.
