Cisco and IBM Team Up on Security

The two tech titans enter into an agreement to collaborate on technology, services, and threat intelligence.

IBM Security and Cisco announced today that they will integrate some of their technology, services, and threat intelligence, in what the two companies say is an effort to team up against the increasing threat of cybercrime.
The IBM X-Force and Cisco Talos research teams will collaborate on vetting threats as well under the agreement. The two research teams recently got their feet wet with such an arrangement by sharing threat intelligence on the WannaCry ransomware attack. IBM also plans to integrate information from its X-Force Exchange and Ciscos Threat Grid for customers the two firms have in common.
Also under the agreement, Cisco will build new applications for Big Blues QRadar security analytics platform and will develop two new Cisco apps for IBMs Security App Exchange. The two apps aim to help security teams respond to advanced threats.
On the services front, IBM Global Services will support Ciscos products in Big Blues Managed Security Service Provider offerings. IBMs security service offerings are used by more than 3,700 customers worldwide.
