Arizona Official Says Hack Of Voter Data Came Via Employee Email

Michele Reagan says hackers did not access vote-tallying mechanism, calls for use of stronger user credentials.

Arizona Secretary of State Michele Reagan said the breach of the states voter registration system began via a realistic-looking email that appeared to be from an employee, reports CNBC. In a later interview, Reagan elaborated on the steps the state took after the breach discovery, including taking the entire system offline. She also stressed the need for multifactor login-verification and stronger passwords.
