Hacktivist groups plan denial-of-service attacks on banks, government sites

Hacktivist groups Anonymous, LulzSec, and OpUSA are among those planning widespread cyberattacks on U.S. banks and government agencies today.
According to a
post by LulzSec on the Pastebin site
, the groups are planning denial-of-service attacks and defacements of government and banking sites, and they are encouraging other hacktivists to do the same on May 7.
The groups announced Operation Anti-Security (AntiSec) to protest the control exercised by government agencies.
Top priority is to steal and leak any classified government information, including email spools and documentation, the post says. Prime targets are banks and other high-ranking establishments. If they try to censor our progress, we will obliterate the censor.
A separate Pastebin post by OpUSA
offers a target list of nine high-profile government sites and dozens of financial institutions, many of them smaller banks and credit unions.
